Ward Village® Welcomes Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina
Local owners of Oʻahu Mexican Grill introduce a new full-service Tex-Mex dining concept at ʻAʻaliʻi
HONOLULU (July 9, 2026) – Ward Village, the award-winning destination in the heart of Honolulu to live, shop, dine and explore, welcomes Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina to ʻAʻaliʻi, introducing a new full-service Tex-Mex dining experience from the local owners of Oʻahu Mexican Grill.
“One of the things that makes Ward Village unique is the diversity of experiences available throughout the neighborhood, and our restaurants play an important role in creating variety that appeals to everyone and inspires people to return for something new,” said Marc Higuchi, Vice President of Management and Operations of Ward Village. “Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina introduces a new dining concept that complements our existing collection and adds yet another unique experience to Ward Village.”
The 2,125-square-foot restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating in an open-air setting. Serving lunch and dinner daily, Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina offers a dedicated burrito menu during the day before transitioning into a full-service dinner experience complemented by handcrafted cocktails and an energetic cantina atmosphere.
“Our goal was to create a place that feels social and exciting, where people can come for dinner, drinks, celebrations or simply enjoy a fun night out with friends and family. Tex-Mex has a way of bringing people together, and that’s something we wanted to build around,” said Scott Plater, owner of Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina. “Ward Village felt like the natural place to bring that vision to life because it offers the kind of neighborhood experience we envisioned for Luna’s. People can grab lunch, spend time shopping, meet friends for dinner or simply enjoy the evening, all in one place. We hope Luna’s becomes a restaurant people return to again and again.”
Drawing inspiration from the bold flavors of Texas and Mexico, Luna’s Tex-Mex Cantina menu features sizzling fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, fresh guacamole and housemade queso. The signature fajitas are the heart of the menu, with fresh guacamole and high-quality meats creating a fun experience to share at the table. Plater also recommends pairing them with one of Luna’s margaritas and queso, and encourages first-time guests to order a variety of dishes to share.
